We designed the Cybersecurity Engineering Program for IT and cybersecurity professionals with 3+ years of experience. Students should possess foundational knowledge of cybersecurity, plus comfort with:

  • IT & Cybersecurity Fundamentals: Understanding of core IT and networking concepts (IP addressing, DNS, TCP/UDP) along with basic cybersecurity principles such as threats, vulnerabilities, and security fundamentals.
  • Operating Systems & System Navigation: Ability to work in Windows or Linux environments including managing files and directories and using basic command-line tools. Prior exposure to Linux is preferred.
  • Software Installation & Configuration: Experience installing, updating, and managing applications.
  • Scripting / Programming Basics: Basic familiarity with Python or another scripting language is recommended, including understanding variables, data types, loops, conditionals, and the ability to write and modify simple scripts and functions.

Some scripting and Python familiarity is helpful, but we’ll guide you through cybersecurity-specific applications step by step.
